Thursday, February 2nd at 6pm A Civil War soldier’s story is brought to life in this dynamic program. Born into slavery in Kentucky and raised in Missouri, Andrew Lewis was able to escape to the North and become a soldier in the Illinois 29th Infantry. Bringing his tale to the stage is retired Fiscal Officer Robert Davis, a former teacher at University of Illinois. Davis has served on the Abraham Lincoln Association Board of Directors, the Sangamon County Historical Society, and the Looking For Lincoln Heritage Coalition. |
