Fourth Floor Auditorium and Gallery
In 2008 the Kankakee Public Library added a spacious auditorium in its fourth floor addition. The modern room features a stage with can lighting, integrated audio and video projection, wireless sound, computer/VHS/DVD projection capability and MP3 event sound recording. Approximately 240 people can be seated theatre style, 40 people at tables in a classroom formation, or 80 people on both sides of each table. The auditorium tiered pricing plan allows renters keep costs down by only paying for the services they will use. For example, tier one renters will get basic seat setup, while those renting the auditorium at the tier 3 level get all the AV equipment, staff technical support during their event and use of the “green room lounge” and the gallery. The gallery includes a kitchen (with double sink, refrigerator, microwave and serving window), two close circuit wall mounted televisions and a coat room with service window. The gallery can be rented separately and will accommodate up to 100 people in theatre style seating. All fourth floor rooms can be accessed via two express elevators through the Library lobby or (for an additional fee) through the executive center for events when the Library is closed. Third Floor Conference Room
The third floor conference room is an affordable alternative for a business meeting or small program in a professional setting. The room looks out on downtown Kankakee, providing a lovely atmosphere at affordable prices. This space holds 40 chairs theatre style or 20 chairs around a large conference table.
