In honor of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birthday, Thomas Heinz, author of dozens of books on Frank Lloyd Wright, spoke at the Kankakee Public Library on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010. Heinz spoke on the works of Wright and his own works, including his book The Frank Lloyd Wright Field Guide. In addition to having authored several books on Wright, he is also an AIA architect. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. He has spearheaded construction and restoration of nearly 40 Wright buildings, and has also designed several homes, offices, factories and retail stores. Wright in Kankakee, one of the sponsors of the event, aims to open the Bradley House and Stable as an education center and museum. Though the building needs no further renovation, it is yet to be acquired by the organization. This free event was sponsored jointly by the Kankakee County Historic Preservation Commission, Wright in Kankakee, and the Kankakee Public Library. 49 min. 01 sec.
