The 2012 Mary Jo Johnston author series speaker was Andrea Davis Pinkney. The author of over 20 children's books shared her work with 75 attendees at the Kankakee Public Library on Monday, March 26, 2012. Listen as she discusses her life, her stories, and her books, which include Alvin Ailey, Dear Benjamin Banneker, and the award-winning Let it Shine. She is a graduate of Syracuse University, and is married to Caldecott Award winning illustrator Brian Pinkney.
