Kankakee Public Library patrons can access both the online and digital versions of the Chicago Tribune. Users will have access between 24 hours and 30 days depending on the authentication method you choose when prompted and your web browsers settings.

EBSCO is an online system with a wide range of databases covering topics from car repair to legal resources, from health information to peer reviewed articles for academic research, from home improvement information to study materials for college entrance exams. Log in with your library card.

IRIS is a free statewide database package from the Illinois State Library offered through the vendor EBSCO for everyone in Illinois to use and access reliable information online. Access thousands of full-text magazines, journals, newspapers, ebooks, tutorials, images, exam prep materials, and more. Many of the journals are peer-reviewed, most resources are full-text, and there are no ads or paywalls.

The Kankakee County Legal Self-Help Center provides legal information to Kankakee County residents about their legal rights and responsibilities, instructions on how to handle common legal problems, assistance with some legal documents and forms, and referrals to free and low-cost legal services.

Explore More Illinois is free and can be accessed 24/7 from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Watch over 30000 documentaries, classics, indie films, and kids programming. Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform that allows you to watch on your desktop, mobile device, or with a roku.
All you need is your Kankakee Public Library card.

The Daily Journal provided copyright clearance for the Kankakee Public Library to digitize the microfilm archive of The Daily Journal for the purpose of making it available online to the general public free of charge. Olivet Nazarene University and Benner Library host the archive online.

Copyright clearance covers July 1854 through one year before the current date. Only the years 1854-2014 have been digitized from microfilm. As time permits, these files are manually combined into issues and added.

HeritageQuest Online provides genealogical and historical sources for more than 60 countries, with coverage dating back as early as the 1700s.

ProQuest African American Heritage is a groundbreaking digital resource exclusively devoted to African American family history research.

Bendable is a free learning platform that allows residents of all ages to acquire new knowledge and skills through online courses, in-person events, and other learning resources.
